Mr Martin Raglan is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon specialising in foot and ankle surgery. He is based in the East Midlands and holds particular expertise in managing both routine and complex conditions affecting the foot and ankle.

Mr Raglan graduated in Medicine from St George’s Medical School, London, in 2004 and completed his basic surgical training in South West London, obtaining Membership of the Royal College of Surgeons (MRCS England) in 2007. He went on to complete higher surgical training in the East Midlands North rotation and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (FRCS Tr & Orth) in 2015, joining the GMC Specialist Register in 2016.

He has undertaken advanced subspecialty training through two prestigious foot and ankle fellowships: one under Mr Sunil Dhar, past president of the British Foot and Ankle Society, and another at the Oxford Nuffield Elective Foot and Ankle Unit, training under Mr Bob Sharpe, Mr Paul Cooke, and Mr Mark Rogers. In 2016, he was awarded the British Orthopaedic Association (BOA) Travelling Fellowship, allowing him to train with world-renowned foot and ankle surgeons in North America, including Mr Steve Haddad in Chicago and Mr Lew Schon in Baltimore.

Mr Raglan is an active member of the British Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society (BOFAS). He has published in peer-reviewed international journals and regularly presents his work at national and international conferences. He has taught on several courses for consultants and junior trainees. He is lead consultant for the East Midlands Ankle Arthritis Network.

 His current interests and skill sets involve; minimal invasive surgery, arthroscopic ligamentous reconstruction techniques as well as ankle arhtropalsty and revison arthropalsty.
