Muhammad Iftikhar is a Consultant Gynaecologist who qualified in 1979. He completed his training as a Gynaecologist & Obstetrician in Northern Ireland and was appointed as a Consultant in Dorchester in 1993.

Iftikhar has acquired vast experience in advanced laparoscopic surgery to develop a comprehensive list of procedures through keyhole surgery including laparoscopic hysterectomy, TVT sling operation for the treatment of female urinary incontinence, and endometrial ablation techniques for the treatment of menorrhagia and he has also developed a special interest in pelvic floor prolapse surgery, with or without the use of mesh implants including sacrospinous fixation.
