Mr Chatterjee graduated from Glasgow Medical School. He completed his basic surgical training and undertook higher surgical training in Scotland. He completed his senior training at Canniesburn Plastic Surgery Unit in Glasgow and obtained the Certificate of Completion of Training, being entered onto the UK Specialist Register in Plastic Surgery. Mr Chatterjee was awarded a Fellowship in Plastic Surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He was also awarded the European Board of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery. Mr Chatterjee completed the European Diploma in Hand Surgery and the British Hand Diploma. He was the first Plastic Surgeon from the Pan Scotland Plastic Surgery Training Program to be awarded the British Hand Diploma.
Mr Chatterjee was awarded an MSc in Wound Healing and Tissue Repair from Cardiff University.
