About Mr Joseph Curry
Mr Joseph Curry, Consultant Paediatric Surgeon, currently holds the position of the most senior neonatal and paediatric surgeons at Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. He is highly skilled in all aspects of paediatrics including GI surgery, abnormalities of the abdominal wall, diaphragm, gastrointestinal tract, oesophageal surgery, anti-reflux surgery, lower bowel surgery (anorectal anomalies, Hirschsprung's disease and inflammatory bowel disease). He is also highly competent in performing laparoscopic surgery in infants as small as 1kg. Mr Curry did his medical training in the South East of England rotation and was later awarded the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons' medal for his outstanding performance in the intercollegiate examination. He took up his current position as a consultant in 2003. Mr Curry is also a passionate educator, regularly training senior trainees within his NHS practice. Additionally, he was awarded a post-graduate Certificate and Diploma in medical education from the University of London. He is currently the South of England Representative on the executive committee of the British Association of Paediatric Surgeons.
