About Dr Harry Kaltsidis
Dr Harry Kaltsidis is a Consultant Pancreatobiliary Gastroenterologist at the University Hospital of South Manchester (UHSM), Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). He qualified from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in Greece and continued his training in gastroenterology in London. He trained in some of the most renowned teaching hospitals in the NW Thames Rotation (including Hammersmith, St Mary's, Charing Cross and St Mark's), and in parallel undertook a research project on the immunological effects of HIV infection in the gut which earned him a PhD degree from Imperial College London. Having completed the training in Gastroenterology and General Medicine, Dr Kaltsidis undertook a fellowship in Pancreatobiliary Medicine, ERCP and Endoscopic Ultrasound. Dr Kaltsidis sees patients with all aspects of pancreaticobiliary conditions. He subspecialises in complex ERCP (including Spyglass cholangioscopy) as well as pancreaticobiliary EUS/FNA. He is also accredited in upper GI endoscopy as well as colonoscopy and routinely performs large polypectomies/EMRs. Dr Kaltsidis is a member of the regional HPB Multidisciplinary Team and the HPB Pathway Board for Greater Manchester. Dr Kaltsidis is actively involved in research and education. His research interests are focused on endoscopic therapy in chronic pancreatitis and EUS delivered endotherapy for pancreatic diseases. He has co-authored numerous research papers and regularly presents and national and international conferences.
