His adult service is at Charing Cross Hospital, where he is founder and lead for the National Centre for Airway Reconstruction and Complex Laryngology. He provides a full paediatric ENT services at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital. Professor Sandhu holds a Clinical Excellence award from the NHS.
His ENT training was at The Royal National Throat, Nose and Ear Hospital, with paediatric ENT training at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children. He obtained the Intercollegiate Fellowship in Otolaryngology (FRCS ORL-HNS) in 2001 and a Doctorate of Medicine (MD) in 2011.
Prof Sandhu has over 150 peer reviewed research publications and has written 20 book chapters and 3 books. He lectures nationally and internationally and has an active research programme in laryngology. He is a fellow of the American Laryngological Association and was awarded a honorary fellowship of the Royal Academy of Music. These are in recognition of research, education and the management of throat problems and the professional voice. He was the fourth recipient of the Isshiki prize, given every two years, to surgeons who have made an outstanding contribution to laryngology.
