MR Tarek El Gamal is a Consultant Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Surgeon with extensive international training and a strong reputation for both clinical excellence and teaching.
He completed his higher surgical training in Trauma and Orthopaedics at Alexandria University Hospitals, where he was awarded a Master’s Degree in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2006. In 2012, he successfully passed the Intercollegiate Specialty Board Examination and was awarded the FRCS (Trauma and Orthopaedics).
In 2014, MR El Gamal was selected for one of the UK’s most highly regarded advanced Foot and Ankle Fellowships at Wirral University Teaching Hospitals. Following this, he was appointed Consultant Foot and Ankle Surgeon at Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals in 2015.
He is currently practising as a Consultant Foot and Ankle Surgeon at University Hospitals of Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. In recognition of his commitment to training and mentorship, he was voted Trainer of the Year by the trainees in the Warwickshire and Coventry Deanery.
MR El Gamal treats the full spectrum of foot and ankle conditions, from common problems to complex reconstructive cases, with the belief that no concern is too small to deserve expert attention.
He has a particular interest in Minimally invasive and keyhole techniques, aiming to reduce pain, speed recovery, and optimise long-term outcomes for his patients.
