About Dr Fayyaz Musa
Dr Fayyaz Musa is an award winning Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at The Eye Doctor Clinic in Huddersfield, specialising in anterior segment surgery, including the management of corneal disorders, glaucoma, cataract and laser eye surgery. With over 20 years of experience, he is one of a select few surgeons fellowship-trained in both corneal and glaucoma surgery, enabling him to provide a uniquely comprehensive approach to complex reconstructive procedures involving the front of the eye. Dr Musa completed his medical training at the University of Edinburgh and pursued further qualifications in cataract and refractive surgery, including a Postgraduate Diploma from the University of Ulster and a Certificate in Laser and Refractive Surgery from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. He undertook fellowships in Corneal Surgery at the Netherlands Institute for Innovative Ocular Surgery (NIIOS) and in Glaucoma at Queen’s Hospital in Nottingham. His clinical interests include advanced laser eye surgery such as LASIK and LASEK, DMEK (Descemet membrane endothelial keratoplasty), corneal crosslinking, trifocal lens implantation, deep sclerectomy, and treatment of conditions such as keratoconus and Fuchs' endothelial dystrophy. He is especially known for implanting premium lenses that correct both near and distance vision, reducing dependency on glasses. Dr Musa’s approach prioritises patient education and personalised care. He takes the time to ensure patients fully understand their diagnosis and treatment options, guiding them through each step with clarity and confidence. His commitment to surgical precision and informed decision-making is central to his practice philosophy. He is an active contributor to academic research, having published extensively in international journals on topics such as endothelial keratoplasty, glaucoma surgery, and cataract outcomes. He also presents regularly at national and international conferences.
