Mr. Carlos Heras-Palou is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon with a special focus on hand and wrist surgery. He qualified from the School of Medicine in Zaragoza, Spain, in 1988. He joined the Pulvertaft Hand Centre in 2001, where he has since become a key figure in the team. Mr. Heras-Palou runs a dedicated wrist clinic on Monday afternoons at the Royal Derby Hospital. His areas of expertise include scaphoid fractures and non-unions, wrist pain, wrist instability, and complications following distal radius fractures. In addition to his clinical work, he co-chairs the Derby Wrist Course alongside Dr. Marc Garcia-Elias, and regularly speaks at hand and wrist fracture courses, contributing to the Hand and Wrist AO Courses as part of their faculty.
Mr. Heras-Palou also consults at Nuffield Health in Derby, offering treatments for a variety of hand and wrist conditions. He is a member of the British Orthopaedic Association and the British Society for Surgery of the Hand.
