About Dr Ajeya Shetty
Dr Ajeya Shetty is a Consultant Gastroenterologist with extensive experience across the full spectrum of gastroenterological conditions. He practices privately at Great Western Hospitals Private Healthcare and The Ridgeway Hospital, part of Circle Health Group with specialist interests include inflammatory bowel disease (IBD), endoscopy, and hepatobiliary disorders. After graduating in medicine from the University of Glasgow in 1993, Dr Shetty was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 1997 and elected as a Fellow in 2011. He completed specialist training in gastroenterology on the London South West rotation, during which he spent three years at the internationally renowned St Mark’s Hospital, Harrow. There, he gained advanced expertise in managing complex IBD, irritable bowel syndrome, functional bowel disorders, and nutritional support, while also serving as a Clinical Tutor for Imperial College London. His research into IBD led to the award of an MD from the University of London. He also trained for a year at the Liver Unit at King’s College Hospital, furthering his experience in hepatology and liver disease management. Dr Shetty is highly skilled in diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy, including gastroscopy, colonoscopy, capsule endoscopy, and ERCP, with particular expertise in bowel and liver disorders.
