He further specialised by completing a Fellowship in Multi-Organ Transplantation at the University of Pittsburgh in the United States in 1993. He also holds a Master of Public Health and a Diploma of Science in Clinical Research Administration from the University of Liverpool in the United Kingdom.

He has held positions as a Professor of Surgery and has made significant contributions to the medical field through numerous published research articles.
