Miss Theresa Richardson is a Consultant Ophthalmologist with over 25 years of experience and is the leading Ophthalmologists in West London winning numerous awards for her excellent clinical practice from the NHS Her specialist interests include cataracts, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy And eye casualty , vein occlusion and glaucoma associated with uveitis and diabetic retinopathy Theresa gained her medical qualification at University of London with Honors degree in medicine surgery and Pathology , in addition to her BSc in psychology she specialises In nervous amd anxious patients After this, she trained for seven years with prestigious institutions, including the Royal College of Surgeons, The Western Eye Hospital and Moorfields Eye Hospital, where she gained fellowship in both Retina and Uveitis. She was a consultant in glaucoma and medical retina from 2002 in Croydon where she set up the Macula service and was Lead consultant for 8 years gaining three clinical excellence awards . She was later appointed consultant in 2014 at the Imperial Healthcare Trust, where she also trains junior Ophthalmologists in retina and cataract care, including cataract surgery and laser retina surgery and treatment of vein occlusion and uveitis . She is well versed to performing complex eye surgeries with low complication rates of 0.04. She is a Consultant in the Western Eye Hospital Casualty and this she enjoys the most as she has gained over 24 years of experience in the most complex and unusual cases which keeps her on her toes !
