About
As a Counselling Psychologist, I care deeply about helping people feel understood, not just in a general sense, but in a way that genuinely reflects your experience. Many of the people I work with come to therapy feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure why things feel so difficult, even when they’re “doing everything right.”
I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I take the time to really get to know you - how you think, what you’ve been through, and what matters most in your life. From there, we work together to make sense of what’s going on and find a way forward that actually feels realistic and meaningful for you.
In our sessions, I aim to strike a balance between understanding and action. That means not only exploring your thoughts and feelings, but also helping you leave with something useful; whether that’s a new perspective, a practical strategy, or a clearer sense of direction. Clients often tell me they appreciate having both space to talk and something concrete to take away.
I draw on approaches such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), alongside psychodynamic and mindfulness-based ideas, depending on what feels most helpful for you.
That said, research consistently shows that the most important part of therapy isn’t the specific model, it’s the relationship you have with your therapist. Feeling comfortable, understood, and able to build trust is what really allows meaningful change to happen.
If you’re looking for a therapist, I’d always encourage speaking to a few people and noticing how you feel in those initial conversations. The “right” approach matters far less than finding someone you feel you can genuinely connect with. I geniunely believe therapy works best when it feels like a genuine conversation, not a clinical process.
I’m also mindful that therapy is an investment (emotionally) and financially. My aim isn’t to keep you in therapy indefinitely, but to help you develop the insight, tools, and confidence to eventually manage things on your own.
Above all, I want therapy to feel like a space where you can be open without judgment, gain clarity about what’s going on for you, and leave each session feeling more equipped to handle life outside of it.
Additional Information:
I offer a limited number of sliding scale spaces for those who may not be able to afford the full fee.
A free 20-minute consultation is available to help you decide if we’re a good fit.
Please note: ADHD assessments are priced separately (£850 total). Full details can be found on my website.
