About

Dr. Milen Antonov Boykov is a Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, General Surgeon, and Surgical Oncologist with decades of experience in both Eastern and Western Europe. A graduate of Medical University Pleven in Bulgaria, Dr. Boykov began his career in 1995 at the University Oncology Centre in Pleven, where he specialised in surgical oncology. He became a certified General Surgeon in 2001 and completed a second specialisation in Oncology in 2004.

His professional journey includes service in a military surgical mission in Afghanistan in 2006, where he was part of the Bulgarian Military Surgical Team, acting as team leader. Upon returning, he joined Tokuda Hospital in Sofia, where he managed both benign and malignant breast conditions and performed minimally invasive, one-day surgical interventions.

Since 2010, Dr. Boykov has been practicing in the United Kingdom. He currently serves as an NHS Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon and General Surgeon, while also offering private consultations in London. Over the years, he has trained extensively in leading surgical centres across Bulgaria and the UK, refining his techniques in breast and gastrointestinal surgery, endocrine surgery, and aesthetic and reconstructive procedures.

Dr. Boykov has a particular interest in modern oncoplastic approaches to breast cancer surgery, including immediate reconstruction post-mastectomy, sentinel lymph node biopsy, intraoperative radiotherapy (IORT), and genetic counselling for hereditary breast cancer. He is also skilled in breast contouring procedures such as reductions, augmentations, and fat transfer remodeling.

In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Boykov is committed to academic advancement. He has published in both Bulgarian and international medical journals and frequently contributes to scientific forums and conferences worldwide.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
