Dr. Schubert ist heute einer der weltweit führenden Wirbelsäulenchirurgen in der endoskopischen Operationstechnik. Immer mit dem Ziel: Erhaltung der natürlichen Mobilität und Stabilität des operierten Wirbelsäulenabschnitts. Als anerkannter Spezialist hat er sich als Anlaufstelle für Kollegen aus aller Welt etabliert. Wirbelsäulenspezialisten aus vielen Ländern haben bei ihm Trainingskurse besucht, um die neue endoskopische Operationstechnik zu erlernen. Mit vielen nationalen wie internationalen Vorträgen ist Herr Dr. med. Schubert nicht nur an der praktischen Umsetzung, sondern auch an der wissenschaftlichen Aufarbeitung und Verbreitung seiner Philosophie, der Behandlung von Wirbelsäulenerkrankungen durch minimalstinvasive Techniken im Bereich der gesamten Wirbelsäule interessiert. Seine Behandlungsschwerpunkte liegen auf der Behandlung von Bandscheibenvorfällen, von Rückenschmerzen und auf hochspezialisierten endoskopischen Bandscheibenoperationen. Im Laufe der 20 Jahre, die Dr. med. Schubert bereits als Wirbelsäulenchirurg tätig ist, hat er fast 10.000 endoskopische Bandscheibeneingriffe durchgeführt. Herr Dr. med. Michael D. Schubert absolvierte das Studium der Humanmedizin an der Georg August Universität Göttingen. Im Jahr 1993 promovierte er mit „magna cum laude" und begann anschließend seine umfangreiche chirurgische Ausbildung mit der frühen Spezialisierung auf die Wirbelsäulenchirurgie. Im Mai 2008 gründete er gemeinsam mit seinem Kollegen Dr. Helmbrecht das apex spine center in München.
