About
Michael Ledden, a psychotherapist and the Founder of Anxiety Ireland, began his mission to establish the organisation after undergoing his own transformative therapy journey over a decade ago. Driven by a profound understanding of his own overactive mind and anxiety, Michael founded Anxiety Ireland in 2018, driven by a deep concern for what he perceived as a hidden epidemic: individuals dealing with many anxiety-related challenges in their daily lives.
As the founder of Anxiety Ireland, Michael works directly with clients experiencing a wide range of anxiety-related issues, including General Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Health Anxiety, Existential Anxiety, Climate Anxiety, Relationship Anxiety, OCD, PTSD, and Phobias. He typically guides clients through 6-8 sessions.
Michael adopts a holistic approach to treating anxiety, beginning with the establishment of a nurturing rapport and a thorough understanding of the client's unique challenges. His therapeutic approach delves into the intricate dynamics of anxiety, exploring its impact on mental, physical, emotional, and behavioural aspects, as well as its potential to estrange individuals from their authentic selves.
Therapeutic sessions with Michael include a dynamic blend of authentic interpersonal connection, psychoeducational insights, personalised homework assignments, and additional behavioural challenges. This multifaceted approach ensures impactful transformations from one session to the next. With a specialised treatment repertoire, Michael addresses a wide range of issues, including General Anxiety, Health Anxiety, Social Anxiety, Perfectionism, Procrastination, physical manifestations of anxiety, inner critic/child work, boundaries, belief restructuring, and emotional relationship transformation.
Michael is a fully accredited psychotherapist with a keen interest in various modalities, including CBT, Mindfulness, Shamanism, Humanistic, Psychodynamic, Existential, and Transpersonal Psychology. He offers services tailored to clients with diverse needs, accommodating short-term, intensive interventions for confronting anxiety challenges directly, as well as long-term healing journeys.
Beyond his focus on CBT and anxiety work, Michael is fascinated by the potential of psychedelic therapy for transformative healing. He is affiliated with InwardBound Psilocybin Retreats in the Netherlands and operates his own service, Psychedelic Integration Ireland, assisting clients who have engaged with these modalities. Michael serves as the chairperson and co-founder of PsyCare Ireland: Welfare and Harm Reduction CLG, a nonprofit social enterprise providing mental health support and harm reduction information at Irish music festivals and concerts.
