About

Mr Menachem Salasnik is a highly experienced Optometrist at Barnard Levit, where he has been the principal optometrist since 2000. Specialising in low vision and geriatric optometry, he has extensive experience working in the Specialist Clinic at the Institute of Optometry, as well as in the Low Vision clinics at Central Middlesex Hospital and the South London Vision Resource Centre at Guy's Hospital. Mr Salasnik is the practitioner of choice for senior citizens within the practice and currently leads the Low Vision Departments at Watford and St Albans Hospitals. He has lectured extensively on Low Vision and the Ageing Eye, both in the UK and internationally.
Recently, Mr Salasnik has been involved as a consultant in a pioneering project at Ben Gurion University and the Holon Institute in Israel. This project focuses on using principles of image enhancement, magnification, and projection to develop a compact, lightweight low vision goggle for the visually impaired.
Mr Salasnik is one of the few optometrists in the country to have received a Certificate in Diabetic Care from Warwick University, as part of a multidisciplinary approach to improving diabetic care in England. In addition to his main specialties, he enjoys working with children and was awarded the Adrian Evans Memorial Prize from the Institute of Optometry in 2001 for his exceptional skills in clinical paediatric optometry.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”

— Mr Menachem Salasnik
