About Dr Mehrdad Bordbar
Dr Mehrdad Bordbar is a General Practitioner with over 10 years of clinical experience working within the NHS and private practice. He is currently a full time Private GP at Olivine Clinic in Poundbury, Dorchester which he founded in 2025 Dr Bordbar completed a six-year medical degree at the University of Southampton School of Medicine, graduating with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) and an additional Master’s degree in Medical Sciences (MMedSc). Following qualification, he undertook broad-based postgraduate training at Poole Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, gaining experience in general surgery, respiratory medicine, gastroenterology, ear, nose and throat surgery, and geriatrics. He later completed three years of specialist General Practice training at Dorset County Hospital, with rotations in accident and emergency, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology, ophthalmology, and general practice. He was awarded Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners in 2019. Dr Bordbar has also completed the Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Practice (AFMCP) through the Institute for Functional Medicine (IFM). This training deepens his focus on identifying the root causes of disease rather than just treating symptoms. He integrates clinical nutrition as a core pillar of his practice, using evidence-based lifestyle interventions to address the unique biochemical needs of each patient. Dr Bordbar has completed specialist training in Western Medical Acupuncture with the British Medical Acupuncture Society in London. He is a member of the College of Medicine and Integrated Health, the Independent Doctors Federation, and is registered with the General Medical Council. His practice integrates general medical care with evidence-based acupuncture treatments.
