Dr Matthew Hughes is a clinical neuropsychologist who is part of Neurology Network Melbourne which offers treatment for a range of neurological disorders. Dr Hughes has over 20 years' experience and has specialist expertise in neurodegenerative diseases and acquired brain injury. He has a wealth of knowledge in the assessment and diagnosis of cognitive diseases and provides comprehensive, detailed neuropsychological assessments for a number of conditions including concussion, language disorders, and thinking difficulties. Dr Hughes uses these assessments to also determine if there is disease of the central nervous system such as dementia, brain tumour, or other neurological diseases. He is also able to provide assessments prior to brain surgery as well as assessments for medicolegal reasons.
Dr Hughes first qualified with a graduate diploma in Psychology in 1995 before going on to achieve a Doctor of Psychology in 2002. He has previously held the position of principal senior clinical neuropsychologist at both the Alfred Hospital, Melbourne and St George's Hospital in London before joining Neurology Network Melbourne.
