About
Professor Ashton gained his primary medical qualification at the University of Melbourne in 1987, after which he undertook his basic and specialist surgeon training. He then gained fellowship with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and was appointed consultant. Since this appointment, Professor Ashton has gone on to become the President of the Australian Plastic Surgery Society and a member of the Per-Operative Expert Advisory Board for Safwe Care Victoria.
Professor Ashton is also an active member of the scientific research community and is a co-Editor in Chief of the Australasian Journal of Plastic Surgery and Editor for the Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery Journal (America). He is also the Director of the Taylor Research Lab at the University of Melbourne and is actively involved in the training of future surgeons and doctors.
