About

Teen & Parent Support in Clare – When Your Child Is Struggling and You Don’t Know What Else to Try

If you’re a parent feeling worried, shut out, exhausted, or walking on eggshells around your teenager, you’re not alone — and you’re not doing anything wrong.

I specialise in adolescent and young adult psychotherapy, and in parent support during the most difficult stages of teenage life — including anxiety, emotional withdrawal, school refusal, growing disconnection at home, and loss of confidence.

Many of the parents I work with arrive feeling unsure whether therapy will help — but relief often begins simply by finally feeling understood.

Therapy here is not about “fixing behaviour.” It’s about helping your young person feel understood again — and helping you feel steadier, more informed, and less alone as a parent.

Based in Ennis, Co. Clare, I offer in-person and online sessions across Ireland.

Who I Help

• Parents who feel worried, lost, shut out, or unsure how to help their teen

• Teenagers experiencing anxiety, emotional overwhelm, withdrawal, or school refusal

• Young adults (18–25) navigating pressure, identity, and life transitions

How I Help

My work is relational, developmentally informed, and grounded in adolescent psychology. I don’t offer surface-level strategies — I help young people make sense of what they are feeling, and support parents to understand what is really happening beneath behaviour. This creates change that lasts, not quick fixes that fade.

Adult Support

I also work with adults navigating burnout, emotional overwhelm, relationship difficulties, and major life transitions — particularly parents whose own emotional wellbeing has been affected by the strain of supporting a struggling young person.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
