Mr Mahmoud Radwan

Mr. Mahmoud Radwan is a highly skilled consultant ophthalmic surgeon with a focus on the management of Cataracr, glaucoma and complex cataract surgery. With nearly two decades of experience in the field, he has established himself as an expert in these specialised areas. Mr. Radwan's journey in the field of ophthalmology began when he graduated in 2002. He underwent higher specialist ophthalmology training at prestigious institutions, including Cardiff, Edinburgh, and Cambridge university hospitals. This comprehensive training laid the foundation for his career in ophthalmology. His commitment to excellence and continuous learning led him to pursue a Senior Glaucoma Fellowship at the renowned Western Eye Hospital in London. During this fellowship, he gained extensive expertise in the medical and surgical management of both glaucoma and cataract conditions. In his practice, Mr. Radwan focuses on managing various forms of glaucoma, employing a patient-centred approach that tailors treatment to each individual's needs. He utilises a range of techniques, including medical and interventional methods, to ensure the best possible outcomes for his patients. His surgical expertise includes various procedures, such as Augmented Trabeculectomy, Baerveldt and Ahmed drainage tube surgery, laser peripheral iridotomy (Yag PI), minimally invasive glaucoma surgery (MIGS), and selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT). He is also skilled in performing advanced laser treatments like MicroPulse Diode Laser Therapy (TLT) and Endoscopic Cyclophoto-coagulation (ECP) for glaucoma management. In addition to his specialisation in glaucoma, Mr. Radwan is highly trained in complex cataract surgery. He performs procedures such as phacoemulsification and Femtosecond Laser Assisted Cataract surgery, utilising premium intraocular lenses to address conditions like astigmatism and presbyopia. Mr. Radwan's commitment to the field of ophthalmology goes beyond his clinical practice. He serves as an examiner at the Royal College of Ophthalmologists and takes on the role of the Optometric Lead, demonstrating his dedication to advancing the field and ensuring high standards of care.
