About Dr Mahen Jhugroo
Mahen Jhugroo is a Chartered Clinical Psychologist at Nightingale Hospital in London. He has over 12 years of experience working with adults in mental health services and holds registration with the Health and Care Professions Council. He is a Chartered Member and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and is also registered with the Division of Clinical Psychology and the Psychological Society of Ireland. He completed his training in clinical psychology at the University of Galway and further postgraduate training in educational psychology at University College London. He also holds a certificate in psychotherapy from the London College of Clinical Therapy and a postgraduate certificate in cognitive behavioural therapy from Newcastle University. Mahen has worked across public and private mental health settings in Ireland and the UK, including inpatient services, and currently maintains additional clinical roles in private practice and with Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust. He has experience supporting individuals with complex and enduring mental health conditions, including depression, anxiety, psychosis, OCD, PTSD, bipolar disorder, eating disorders, personality disorders, ADHD, phobias, and stress-related issues. He uses a flexible and integrative therapeutic approach informed by psychodynamic principles, cognitive behavioural therapy, schema therapy, dialectical behaviour therapy, mindfulness, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and compassion-focused therapy (CFT). His clinical work is informed by research and tailored to the needs and goals of each individual. His areas of expertise include psychological assessment, ADHD adult assessment, psychotherapy, psychological testing, clinical research, and group therapy. He also has training in EMDR and uses tools such as SPSS in his research-based practice. Mahen works with clients across a wide range of emotional and psychological challenges, including sleep disorders, relationship difficulties, bereavement, and suicidal thoughts.
