Mr Kofi Yamoah

Mr Kofi Yamoah is a highly experienced Consultant Gynaecologist at Spire Methley Park Hospital with 25 years of practice in the field. His journey began with a focus on developing surgical skills, before undertaking his specialised training. Mr Yamoah has honed his expertise in minimal access gynaecology, undergoing extensive training in laparoscopic and hysteroscopic surgery under the guidance of renowned experts. Notably, he spent two years at an advanced laparoscopic endometriosis centre, further refining his skills. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Science and Technology in Kumasi, Ghana, before completing his specialist training leading to CCT (Certificate of Completion of Training) under the Yorkshire Deanery. Throughout his training, he gained invaluable experience at prestigious institutions such as Leeds Teaching Hospital, Hull and East Yorkshire Teaching Hospital, York Teaching Hospital Foundation Trust, and Harrogate Foundation NHS Trust. Mr Yamoah's career includes serving as a locum consultant obstetrician gynaecologist at St Mary’s Hospital in Manchester before transitioning to a substantive post in Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust in 2015. Here, he specialises in minimal access gynaecology, menstrual disorders, and the management of menopause. With a particular interest in teaching, Mr Yamoah holds an Honorary Senior Lecturer position at the University of Leeds and is actively involved in supervising senior trainees undergoing the advanced training module (ATSM) offered by the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG). Additionally, he serves as the Clinical Governance Lead for Gynaecology and contributes to various gynaecological courses as a dedicated educator. Furthermore, he extends his teaching expertise to the University of Cape Coast Medical School in Ghana, where he holds an honorary senior lecturer position.
