Dr. med. Lechner war nicht nur ein ausgezeichneter Arzt, sondern auch ein anerkannter Wissenschaftler. Er hat mehr als 530 wissenschaftliche Publikationen veröffentlicht und war Autor mehrerer medizinischer Fachbücher. Seine Expertise wurde durch seine Mitgliedschaft in zahlreichen nationalen und internationalen Fachgesellschaften gewürdigt.
