Juliana Van Niekerk is a valuable member of the team at Gulf Family Clinic. Juliana brings with her a wealth of experience accumulated over 17 years in the field of optometry. A graduate from South Africa's first and renowned optometry school, Juliana has honed her skills in various high-end practices, most notably running a luxury practice in Melrose Arch, Johannesburg’s premier shopping destination.
In 2021, Juliana's expertise led her to Dubai, where she was pivotal in launching a new optical boutique chain. Her role as Project Manager saw her develop optometric software, design store layouts, assemble a professional team, and personally select eyewear in Paris. Following the success in Dubai, she replicated her achievements in Abu Dhabi, establishing another successful branch.
Always seeking new challenges, Juliana recently registered with the Irish Optometry board and enrolled in a Fellowship at the British Contact Lens Association (BCLA). Her focus areas include contact lens application, treatment of anterior eye conditions, and Myopia Management.
Despite her success in retail optometry, Juliana's passion for providing comprehensive care drew her to the more clinically-focused environment of our clinic. Under the mentorship of specialist ophthalmologist Dr. Millicent Grim, she aims to enrich her service offerings with advanced clinical optometry and specialty contact lenses.
Juliana's meticulous and patient-centred approach ensures the highest level of care, making her a valued addition to the team and a favourite among the South African expat community in the U.A.E. She is dedicated to enhancing patient experiences and outcomes at Gulf Family Clinic, particularly in the areas of myopia management and binocular vision therapy.
