About Josie Baines
Josie Baines is an experienced MSK Physiotherapist and First Contact Practitioner (FCP), currently working with Leeds Community Healthcare NHS Trust. She has built her career across a range of physiotherapy and sports therapy settings, developing specialist skills in musculoskeletal care, rehabilitation, and sports injury management. She began her clinical journey after completing a BSc in Sport Therapy at York St. John University in 2015, graduating with first-class honours. She went on to earn her MSc in Physiotherapy from Leeds Beckett University in 2019. Josie’s professional career has included roles across both the NHS and private practice. At Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, she worked as a Physiotherapist and later as a Specialist Sarcoma Physiotherapist, gaining experience in oncology-related rehabilitation alongside general MSK practice. She also held physiotherapy positions at Sano Physiotherapy Ltd and Spire Healthcare Group, where she worked as a Senior MSK Physiotherapist. Alongside her NHS commitments, Josie has provided physiotherapy support for professional and community sport. She was a Physiotherapist for Goalball UK, supporting elite visually impaired athletes, and previously worked with the Leeds Rhinos Foundation as well as the York City Girls RTC as a Sports Therapist. Earlier in her career, she gained valuable experience as a Rehabilitation Assistant with the NHS, which laid the foundation for her patient-focused approach to care.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
