Her previous appointments include Plastic surgery, Breast surgery and sarcoma surgery posts at the royal Marsden NHS Hospital, plastic surgery posts at Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, a breast surgery post at Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust, and a senior house officer role in sarcoma surgery at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH). Earlier in her career, she also practised as a medical doctor at The Karen Hospital in Nairobi, Kenya ,Kenyatta National Hospital in Nairobi,Kenya and underwent training affiliated with the college of surgeons East Central and Southern Africa.

Dr Ngugi holds a Master of Science in Oncoplastic Breast Surgery from the University of East Anglia, a Doctor of Medicine (MSc) in Reconstructive Surgery from UCL, and is currently undertaking a PhD in the Division of Surgery and Intervetional studies. She also completed a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the International Medical and Technological University. Complementing her clinical expertise, she has formal training in healthcare business management from Strathmore Business School and persuing a diploma in healthcare law through studies at The University of Manchester.
