He has been selected by the Nanoori Hospital Group in Korea to represent the hospital itself and likewise the nation of South Korea for his talent and knowledge, being one of the group's top doctors. He is extremely skilled in a number of different procedures including Unilateral Biportal Endoscopy (UBE), biportal endoscopic spine surgery, endoscopic spine surgery, minimally invasive spine surgery, interventional spine therapy, percutaneous epidural neuroplasty, lumbar nucleoplasty, and pain management and control. UBE is only available in Dubai through Dr. An! He has performed more than 1,200 endoscopic cervical, thoracic and lumbar discectomies and more than 500 unilateral biportal endoscopies and is one of the world's pioneers in Endoscopic Spine Surgery.
Dr. An is the current head of spine surgery at Nanoori and has previously been the head director of spine centres at a number of hospitals in South Korea, as well as an adjunct professor in orthopaedics at the Dankook University of Korea. Dr. An has rigorously trained in Korea, gaining his MD from the University of Korea before going on to complete AO Trauma Master Course certification as well as numerous certifications in the field of endoscopic spine surgery. Dr. An is a member of multiple societies including the Korean Orthopedic Surgery Association, the Korean Spine Surgery Association member, and the Korean Sports Medicine Association member.
