Dr Pittman spent eighteen months as a Visiting Professor at Duke University Medical Centre, North Carolina, USA before being appointed as a consultant in Anaesthesia and Intensive care medicine in 2002. Dr Pittman is a member of the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
