About Mr James Allan
Mr James Allan is a Consultant Urologist. After leaving Rugby School, Mr Allan studied medicine at St Thomas’s Hospital in London, qualifying in 1989. Mr Allan studied for a Neuroscience Master of Surgery thesis in the management of chronic genitourinary pain at St Thomas’s Hospital. They then trained at St Thomas's as a Consultant Urologist and qualified in 1999. Mr Allan is one of a handful of urologists in the UK to have been awarded both a British and World Fellowship in endourology, stone surgery and laparoscopic urology. Mr Allan was sponsored by The British Association of Urologists to work at the Cleveland Clinic in the USA. As an established NHS consultant, they provide a service in their specialist areas but also in general urology, men's health issues, incontinence and reversal of vasectomies. Mr Allan is also a passionate teacher of surgery and oversees junior surgeons in the East of England. As an academic, Mr Allan has published extensively in world literature and has recently written chapters on the latest advice on prostate diseases. Away from work, they are a keen sportsman and can still be seen playing cricket and rugby.
