Dr Russell was awarded Fellowship of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Ophthalmologists and took up a position at Gold Coast University Hospital, where she continues to work as a Senior Staff Specialist in General and Paediatric Ophthalmology.
In recognition of her dedication to teaching, Dr Russell has been appointed Associate Professor at Bond University. She is a member of several prestigious societies, including the Australasian Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgeons and the International Strabismological Association. Dr Russell has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and regularly presents at national and international meetings. Her areas of expertise include cataract surgery, progressive myopia in children, and the use of injectable muscle relaxants in treating complex strabismus.
