Dr. Hani is a renowned consultant eye surgeon with a passion for staying at the forefront of ophthalmic technology. He has made significant contributions to the field through his numerous publications in international peer-reviewed journals, including The Journal of Ophthalmology from the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), The Journal of Cataract and Refractive Surgery from the American Society of Cataract and Refractive surgery (ASCRS), and The Journal of Refractive Surgery from the International Society of Refractive Surgery (ISRS), among many others.

Dr. Hani's practice includes a wide range of specialties, such as cataract, intraocular implant surgeries, corneal surgeries, keratoplasties, phakic lenses, glaucoma diseases, medical retina, and all refractive procedures with excimer laser, including LASIK, Epilasik, Ultralasik, and Femtosecond lasik. He introduced the phacoemulsification technique and sutureless cataract surgeries with foldable lenses, which became popular techniques among his peers after he moved to Dubai to work as a consultant eye surgeon.

In addition to his practice, Dr. Hani has served as the chairman of the scientific committee in the Emirates Medical Association since 2001, organizing many international ophthalmology conferences in Dubai. He has achieved several remarkable milestones in his career, including being the first to implant the Restor Multifocal lenses outside the US and Europe in 2003 and being in the international study group to evaluate the lens.

Dr. Hani has also introduced several other innovative techniques in the UAE, such as the Toric Acrysof lens, the Toric implantable contact lenses to correct visual problems in keratoconus patients, intravitreal injections of Ranibizumab to treat diabetic macular edema, and the use of photodynamic therapy to treat age-related macular degenerations. He was also the first to use the Zeimer LDV Femtosecond laser to perform a safe ZLASIK in 2009.
