Dr Gregory Button
Emergency Medicine
About
Dr Button initiated a staff wellness dog program at their hospital. The program is the first of its kind in New South Wales. The goal of the program is to provide support for Emergency Department staff who work in challenging situations. The dogs are available for staff to interact with and to help manage stress. Staff can have lunch with the dogs, take them for a walk, or sit quietly with the dog one on one.
Dr Button believes that staff wellness is important to an individual's longevity and is undeniably linked to the ability of the system to deliver high-quality healthcare.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
