About Mr Graeme Hancock
Mr. Graeme Hancock is a Consultant in Knee Surgery at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, with a private practice at Spire Claremont Hospital and Thornbury Hospital, where he provides a comprehensive range of knee surgery services, with a particular focus on knee preservation techniques. He is one of the few surgeons in the UK offering advanced knee cartilage repair and regeneration services within the NHS, a field that is provided by only a handful of centres across the country. Mr. Hancock’s practice emphasises personalised treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and goals. Originally from the North East, Mr. Hancock graduated from Sheffield University Medical School in 2010. He completed his specialty training in South Yorkshire, earning his MRCS in 2012 and FRCS(Tr&Orth) in 2020. Throughout his training, Mr. Hancock contributed to numerous research and service development projects, resulting in several publications in international journals and presentations at national and international conferences. Mr. Hancock began his consultant role in knee surgery at Sheffield Teaching Hospitals in April 2023. He has since established a high volume partial knee replacement and complex osteotomy practice. His practice is centred on knee preservation, with a focus on repairing meniscal injuries to maintain their function, partial knee replacement wherever possible, osteotomy where appropriate and cartilage repair surgery. In his spare time, Graeme competes in full and half Ironman events, as well as being an avid follower of sport and keen golfer.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
