About Dr Gohar Naqvi
Mr. Gohar Naqvi is a Consultant Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgeon based in Essex, with specialist expertise in hip and knee surgery. He currently practices at Ramsay Oaks Hospital and Ipswich Hospital NHS Trust, where he provides advanced care in Total hip replacement, total and partial knee replacement, knee arthroscopy, revision procedures, and the management of periprosthetic fractures. He is also actively involved in trauma surgery, managing both routine and complex lower limb fractures. Mr. Naqvi obtained his medical degree in 2000 from the University of Karachi, Pakistan’s highest-ranked medical college. He pursued surgical training in Ireland, earning MRCS and a Master’s degree (MCh) in Orthopaedics from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and the National University of Ireland. His higher surgical training was completed on the prestigious East Anglian programme, where he gained extensive experience across university hospitals, major trauma centres, and district general hospitals. He subsequently achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS Tr & Orth). With a strong focus on hip and knee arthroplasty, Mr. Naqvi was appointed the first Arthroplasty Fellow at Ipswich and Colchester hospitals. In 2021, He was appointed as a Consultant in Trauma & Orthopaedics in Ipswich Hospital with special interest in Hip and Knee Arthroplasty and revision surgeries. During his career, he has been actively involved in teaching and research, contributing to multiple peer-reviewed publications and international conferences.
