She underwent advanced training in Medical Retina at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London and is a Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Dr De Salvo got her PhD at the University of Portsmouth, UK in April 2025.

Specialising in medical retina conditions, Dr De Salvo has extensive expertise in the diagnosis and treatment of age-related macular degeneration (AMD), retinal vein occlusion, intraocular tumours, diabetic retinopathy, central serous chorioretinopathy, polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy, and inflammatory conditions. She has administered over 10,000 intravitreal injections of VEGF and steroid implants for retinal conditions and provides second opinions for complex cases.  Beyond ophthalmology, she has a keen interest in facial and anti-wrinkle assessment. 

Alongside her clinical work, Dr De Salvo has published in international peer-reviewed journals and leads clinical trials. She actively participates in medical education and collaborates with several pharmaceutical companies, including Novartis, Bayer, Roche, AbbVie, Boehringer Ingelheim, Teva, and Heidelberg Engineering.
