About
Dr Emma Beatty is a Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist dedicated to promoting the mental health and wellbeing of young people. She graduated with honours in Medicine from the National University of Ireland, Galway in 2006. Her early career in paediatrics provided a strong grounding in child development and physical health, which later shaped her interest in the psychological and emotional needs of children.
Driven by this passion, Dr Beatty completed her psychiatric training in the West of Ireland, gaining broad experience in both inpatient and outpatient settings. She has since worked for several years as a Consultant within Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS), supporting young people facing a wide spectrum of mental health difficulties.
Dr Beatty is a member of the Royal College of Physicians of Ireland (Paediatrics), the Royal College of Psychiatrists (UK), and the College of Psychiatrists of Ireland. Her dual training in paediatrics and psychiatry underpins her holistic, developmental approach to care.
She has a particular clinical interest in neurodiversity, especially Autism Spectrum Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), and has extensive experience in assessment and therapeutic support. She works collaboratively with families, schools, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure children receive practical, evidence-based guidance that enables them to thrive.
