About Dr Toby Chave
Dr Toby Chave is a Consultant Dermatologist practicing at Plymouth Nuffield Hospital. His specialties include skin cancer, benign skin lesions, dermoscopy and skin surgery, as well as inflammatory skin conditions such as acne, eczema and psoriasis. Dr Chave qualified from the University of Sheffield in 1994. He then undertook medical placements in Doncaster, Exeter and Queensland, Australia whilst working towards becoming a Member of the Royal College of Physicians (MRCP, and subsequently FRCP). Following this, he specialised in Dermatology and completed specialist training in Cardiff and Leicester. He then sub-specialised as a dermatological surgeon dealing with the diagnosis and management of more complex skin cancer. He was first appointed as a Consultant Dermatologist in 2004 in Truro, Cornwall. He then relocated to Plymouth in 2007. He worked as the Service Line Director for Dermatology at Derriford Hospital between 2008 and 2014, and has been the lead clinician for skin cancr and chair of the skin cancer MDT. He remains a substantive NHS consultant at Derriford hospital, and also has a busy private practice at the Plymouth Nuffield.
