About Dr Selwyn Dexter
Dr Selwyn Dexter is general medical practitioner and also a medical acupuncturist. for For over 35 years he ran a busy medical practice in Westminster , London for both the National Health Service and private patients. He has also practiced acupuncture for a similar time. His two specialties complement each other. He manages all clinical, general medical practice related problems. He is used to dealing with complicated medical cases and difficult diagnoses.He has a network of specialist consultants around London when patients need onward referral. He has a special interest in migraine and recurrent head pain as well as headache related to sexual activity. Dr Selwyn Dexter is also an Honorary Consultant Physician at the University College London NHS Trust, specifically at the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery. He is a qualified medical acupuncturist, and deals with a wide range of neurological and medical conditions. Dr Dexter has been a fully accredited member of the British Medical Acupuncture Society (BMAS) for over 3 decades. He uses his acupuncture skills extensively in his practice, with benefits for patients with recurrent migraine as well as gynaecological symptoms, including menstrual and pelvic pain, endometriosis as well as fertility issues. Dr Selwyn Dexter has been an Honorary Consultant Physician at the University College London NHS Trust, specifically at the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery (2017-2025). He is a qualified medical acupuncturist, and deals with a wide range of neurological and medical conditions. He also sees patients with Long Covid at his clinics. Dr Dexter is an active member of the research community.He has made novel discoveries and has published extensively in prestigious journals including the British Medical Journal.
