Dr Firoozi graduated from Guy's & St Thomas' Hospitals Medical School in 1995 and trained in cardiology at a number of London teaching hospitals. He gained a British Heart Foundation Fellowship in 1999, which enabled him to undertake clinical research on heart muscle disease and sports cardiology at St George's University of London.
Dr Firoozi underwent general and interventional cardiology training, including an interventional cardiology fellowship at St George's Hospital, between 2002 and 2008. In 2009, he was appointed as a consultant general and interventional cardiologist. He is particularly interested in high-risk coronary intervention and structural heart intervention, such as TAVI. He has built a high-volume interventional practice and regularly sees a large number of patients.
Dr Firoozi is also active in higher medical education for undergraduate and postgraduate students and has conducted training courses. He is a member of the British Cardiovascular Society (BCS) and the British Cardiac Interventional Society (BCIS), as well as a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
