Dr Justin Haslam has expertise in a variety of general adult mental conditions, including depression, bipolar disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), anxiety, and addiction.
He earned his medical degree from the University of Manchester in 1989 and trained in the North West of England before becoming a member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1993. He then became a consultant psychiatrist at Stepping Hill Hospital in Stockport, as well as covering the High Peak region of North Derbyshire.
During his training, he worked at Christie Hospital for three years, investigating burnout in healthcare personnel, delivering mental health care and therapy to cancer patients and their families, and teaching clinical and communication skills to trainees. He has been working solely in private practice since 2002.
From 2011 until 2018, Dr Haslam served as Medical Director. In 2011, he co-authored 'Coping with Depression: A Guide to What Works for Patients, Caregivers, and Professionals' with his psychology colleagues and also published a study on psychological treatment for OCD.
