About Dr Rapti Mediwake
Dr Rapti Mediwake is a very experienced Consultant Rheumatologist and General Physician. Her NHS base is Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust based at Barnet. She also sees patients at: • HCA The Princess Grace Hospital (Nottingham Place) • Spire Diagnostic Centre (Centennial Park, Elstree) • HCA Golders Green Outpatient & Diagnostic Centre • Inpatients at Wellington St Johns Wood/Princess Grace She has a wide range of experience in managing general rheumatological conditions. She qualified from Southampton University with BM Hons in Medicine and following her foundation medical training, she then underwent specialty training in general medicine and rheumatology at Middlesex, Royal London and Royal Free Hospitals (Scleroderma Unit), with an additional period of research at the Brompton Hospital into sarcoidosis and rheumatological-related lung conditions. Dr Mediwake continues to be involved in research in to new evolving therapies for inflammatory conditions. She is actively involved in Resident Doctor training. She has expertise in the following areas: • Rheumatoid Arthritis • Psoriatic Arthritis • Ankylosing Spondylitis • Gout • Joint Injections • Osteoporosis • Polymyalgia Rheumatica • Joint hypermobility • Post-menopausal joint symptoms • Scleroderma/lupus Dr Mediwake has a specialist interest in female related rheumatological conditions such as osteoporosis, joint hypermobility and post- menopausal joint problems. She works closely with her gynaecological colleagues.
