About Dr Petr Ruzicka
I am a Consultant Cardiologist, appointed in 2007, with extensive experience in the assessment and management of common heart conditions. I see patients with symptoms such as chest pain, breathlessness, palpitations, dizziness and blackouts, as well as those who have been told they have an abnormal ECG or echo. My private clinics are held at The Alexandra Hospital in Cheadle, a relaxed setting where there is time to talk through symptoms, concerns and questions properly. Every new consultation includes an ECG as part of the assessment. If further tests are needed, I can arrange investigations such as echo, ambulatory ECG monitoring, blood pressure monitoring or cardiac CT, with minimal waiting time and only where clinically appropriate. Clear communication is important to me. Clinic letters are usually emailed the day after your appointment, so if you are seen on Monday, your letter is normally with you on Tuesday and never later than Wednesday. This allows you and your GP to understand the plan straight away. I also reply personally to patient emails on the same day, so you communicate directly with me rather than through administrative staff. Alongside my private practice, I lead the cardiology service at Trafford General Hospital and hold regular clinics at the Altrincham site. I also act as consultant of the week at Manchester Royal Infirmary and perform cardiac CT at Wythenshawe Hospital. Working across several centres allows me to offer clear and balanced advice across a wide range of cardiac presentations. For self funding patients, my fees are simple and transparent. A new consultation including ECG is £240, and a follow up appointment is £120. For insured patients, I am recognised by all major insurers and my fees are within their approved limits. My aim is to provide a clear explanation, a practical plan and confidence about the next steps in your care.
"Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions."
