About

Dr. Nnenna Osuji is a highly regarded Consultant Haematologist who currently works at Shirley Oaks Hospital, Croydon, and Parkside Hospital, Wimbledon. Specialising in all aspects of haematology, she expertly manages conditions such as anaemia, blood clots, sickle cell disease, lymphomas, leukaemia, and thrombocytopenia, as well as disorders of iron metabolism including iron deficiency and haemochromatosis.
Dr. Osuji achieved her medical degree with honours from the University of Aberdeen and specialised in haematology through training at St. George's Hospital, Royal Surrey County Hospital, Croydon Health Services, and the Royal Marsden in South West London. Renowned for her compassionate approach and commitment to high-quality care, she has earned the admiration of both patients and colleagues alike.
Over her 18-year tenure as a consultant haematologist at Croydon Health Services NHS Trust, Dr. Osuji has held several leadership roles. These include serving as the lead clinician for haemato-oncology/MDT/Chemotherapy for 10 years, leading haemostasis and thrombosis from 2014 to 2015, and acting as Head of Department from 2012 to 2015—during which she successfully obtained CPA accreditation for the laboratory and represented its interests in the centralisation of SWL Pathology services. She was instrumental in setting up a collaborative MDT service across three NHS trusts and five hospital sites, introducing video conferencing to enhance communication, and spearheading peer reviews of haemato-oncology MDT and chemotherapy services, as well as implementing electronic chemotherapy prescribing.
Since 2015, Dr. Osuji has assumed extensive executive NHS leadership while continuing to provide clinical care at Nuffield Health Parkside Hospital and with the Circle Health Group at Shirley Oaks Hospital.

“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”

— Dr Nnenna Osuji
