She has been a Consultant in Neurodevelopmental Paediatrics for 17 years with expertise in diagnosing and treating children with Autism, ADHD, Developmental problems and helping children with academic underachievement of all ages and all abilities.
She sees children with behavioural problems, Tics,Sleep issues, Chronic constipation, soiling,Daytime wetting/ bedwetting, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia. She works with a network of qualified therapists closely to ensure families are well supported and the child is holistically managed.
Dr Bajaj does joint Autism assessments with highly specialised speech therapists and does detailed reports so that children get the right help in school. Many Autistic children have ADHD as a second diagnosis and she has treated many with ADHD medication with very good improvement in quality of life, developmental and educational outcomes.
Many children treated for ADHD have had excellent academic outcomes and improvement in peer and family relationships.
She has done additional qualifications with British Association of Psychopharmacology to screen these children for anxiety and depression and manage as appropriate with Child Psychiatrists and Psychologists.
She has graduated from Delhi University, India and has worked in 3 premier institutions in Delhi and in one of Asia’s largest paediatric hospitals.Dr Bajaj has gained extensive experience in a wide variety of paediatric problems having worked in 12 hospitals in UK. She can provide guidance regarding general paediatric problems and signpost to excellent specialists such as cardiologists, respiraratory paediatricians as appropriate.
She has worked as a Consultant in Community Paediatrics at Royal London Hospital till 2017 and now only does private practice at 3 hospitals in London including Portland Hospital & 84 Harley Street clinic , Holly Private Hospital and Spire London East Hospital in Essex.
Dr Bajaj has been awarded “Clinical Excellence Award” for her commitment to delivering excellent care in the NHS and was listed amongst top 250 specialists in UK in Tatler’s doctors guide.
She was commissioned by the Department of Health to develop an e-learning training package for “Management of Obesity in children”. (published 2011). Dr Bajaj was also Lead clinical facilitator for designing a pathway for “Obesity in Children”. It has been published on Map of Medicine, NHS Institute of Innovation and Improvement, 2010.
Dr Bajaj has given lectures/talks in Regional and National conferences as well as International conferences.
Her current interests include raising awareness of ADHD and Autism amongst clinicians, GP’s and teachers in local schools.
She can speak fluent Hindi and Bengali and this often helps to build rapport as well as reduce anxiety for parents from different cultural backgrounds.
She has published over 15 articles in both National and International journals.
