About Dr Mohamed Al-Aloul
Dr Mohamed Al-Aloul is a Consultant Physician specialising in Respiratory Medicine. He has impressively performed more than 5000 bronchoscopies, more than 1500 transbronchial biopsies and is the co-lead for the Pleural Disease Group at Wythenshawe Hospital. Dr Al-Aloul qualified in 1996 from the University of Dundee where he also completed his basic surgical training. He began to develop an interest in respiratory medicine whilst on the Mersey Deanery, where he completed his thesis on the effects if nephrotoxicity of antibiotics in cystic fibrosis patients. He was appointed Consultant Respiratory and Transplant Physician at the University Hospital of South Manchester in 2005. Furthermore in 2007 he set up the Association of Lung Transplant Physicians. This helps patients to be easily referred and be added to the lung donor pool. He also holds membership with the international society of heart and lung transplantation.
