Prof. Dr. Imogen Shaw
General Practice (GP)
About
Dr Shaw completed her medical training at Cambridge University and Westminster Medical School. Her deep interest in gynaecology led her to pursue a sabbatical in Canada within a specialist gynaecology department, followed by a postgraduate diploma in gynaecology in 2008.
She has played a key role in shaping national standards for menopause care in the UK. In 2015, she served on the NICE guideline committee for menopause and helped promote the guidance via national media platforms. Dr Shaw has also co-authored a practical guide for GPs on managing menopause in primary care settings.
As a respected educator, Dr Shaw regularly lectures across the UK and supports GP training on women’s health. She is a member of both the British Menopause Society and the Primary Women’s Health Care Forum—where she helped develop HRT prescribing guidance.
With a warm and empathetic approach, Dr Shaw is deeply committed to supporting women through perimenopause and menopause—times that are often misunderstood and underserved. She advocates for personalised, informed care to help every woman feel empowered and supported through every stage of life.
“Evidence-based care tailored to each patient — taking the time to explain options and shared decisions.”
