Dr Florian Wernig is a Consultant Endocrinologist at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust and a Honorary Clinical Senior Lecturer at Imperial College. Dr Wernig has a strong basis in research as well as training from top London institutions. He completed his MD in molecular endocrinology at the University of Innsbruck and carried out further research at the Austrian Academy of Sciences and at St George's University of London. His postgraduate training was in endocrinology as general internal medicine in London on the Imperial/Hammersmith rotation.
Florian is experienced in all aspects of endocrinology but has a particular interest in pituitary disease, neuroendocrine tumours, thyroid cancer and adrenal disorders. He remains actively involved in research and is principle investigator for several international multicentre clinical trials.
He is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and a member of the Endocrine Society, the British Society of Endocrinology and the European Society for Endocrinology.
