About Mr Donald Adam
Mr. Donald Adam is a highly experienced consultant in vascular and endovascular surgery, with a dedication to providing comprehensive treatment options for patients with venous and arterial disease. Practising exclusively in vascular and endovascular surgery, he offers a wide range of treatment modalities, including medical management, minimally-invasive therapies, and open surgery. With a specialised focus on lower limb venous disease, including varicose veins and leg ulceration, as well as aortic disease, Mr. Adam is recognised as a pioneer in keyhole vascular treatments. He specialises in walk-in-walk-out procedures for varicose veins and leg ulcers, employing minimally invasive endovascular techniques such as ultrasound-guided foam sclerotherapy and radiofrequency ablation. Mr. Adam's journey in medicine began at the University of Edinburgh, where he studied medicine and received a doctorate in vascular surgery research. His extensive training in vascular and endovascular surgery took him to Edinburgh, Leicester, and Adelaide, Australia. In 2004, he was appointed as a Consultant Vascular and Endovascular Surgeon in Birmingham, where he established the Birmingham Complex Endovascular Aortic Service and serves as a European mentor for the minimally-invasive management of complex aortic aneurysms. Mr. Adam has published extensively on the management of varicose veins and aortic aneurysms in peer-reviewed medical journals. He is a council member of the Vascular Society of Great Britain and Ireland (VSGBI) and a member of the British Society of Endovascular Therapy (BSET).
